Airbus has pitched the Eurofighter to Portugal as the best replacement for its F-16 fighter jets. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Reuters.
According to Reuters, Airbus representatives said the Eurofighter meets the needs of the Portuguese Air Force and made a corresponding proposal. Portugal currently operates F-16 jets and is considering whether to upgrade or replace them.
The Eurofighter is a multirole fighter developed jointly by several European countries. Airbus, as one of the project participants, is interested in strengthening its position in the Portuguese market.
No official decision from the Portuguese side has been announced yet. Negotiations and evaluation work on replacing the aircraft are ongoing.
