Employees of the Department of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM) in the North Kazakhstan region have shut down the large online casino "Nomad Poker." The organizers operated from abroad and used a network of foreign droppers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the AFM, the gaming platform based on the "Club GG Poker" application was created and coordinated by Kazakh citizens located in Georgia. This allowed them to conceal their identities and confuse money trails.
To accept payments and withdraw winnings, the criminals systematically brought foreigners into Kazakhstan. For a fee of up to $400, bank cards and mobile banking were registered in their names. The investigation identified over 60 such drop accounts.
The casino was promoted through social networks and messengers. More than 20,000 users were involved in gambling, and the total volume of bets exceeded 7.5 billion tenge.
As part of the investigation, with court approval, the property and assets of the organizers were seized:
- 0110 land plots;
- 025 houses;
- 035 vehicles;
- 042 commercial real estate properties;
- 05approximately 4.5 million tenge in cash.
Investigative actions in the case are ongoing.
