A solemn ceremony was held in Aktau to mark the 30th anniversary of the raising of the flag of the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Thirty years ago, on the coast of the Caspian Sea, the flag of the Naval Forces of independent Kazakhstan was raised for the first time. From that historical moment began the formation of the national military fleet, aimed at protecting the country's maritime state borders, sovereignty, and national interests.
According to the regional governor Nurdaulet Kilybai, over the past 30 years the Naval Forces have come a long and honorable path of development. "Today it is a professional military structure with high combat readiness, modern knowledge, and extensive experience. I express special gratitude to the veterans who stood at the origins of the creation of Kazakhstan's Naval Forces. Your service paths are an example of courage, loyalty to the Motherland and military duty for future generations. The traditions of military service you have formed are an invaluable legacy and a solid foundation for further strengthening the country's maritime security," said Kilybai.
