Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum that personal interaction with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev plays a significant role in strengthening cooperation between the two countries. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Aliyev thanked Kazakhstan for its contribution to the restoration of Karabakh and noted that close interaction between the leaders facilitates the implementation of joint projects in transport, energy, and digital sectors.
Among such projects, the Azerbaijani president mentioned the development of the Middle Corridor, the construction of energy and fiber-optic cables along the Caspian Sea bed, as well as the transportation of Kazakh oil through Azerbaijani territory.
Earlier, Ilham Aliyev stated that Baku is considering the possibility of a final withdrawal from the Council of Europe, citing discrimination and biased claims from European institutions. At the same forum, he announced the full normalization of relations with Russia after disagreements arising from the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in December 2024.
