Kazakhstan is introducing changes to its social payment system. Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Askarbek Yertayev announced the new approach at a government meeting. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the minister, the key innovation will be the introduction of targeting and need-based principles. "The main priority is to shift from a categorical approach to a comprehensive and targeted assessment of the actual need and welfare level of the family. This will allow for a fairer and more efficient distribution of state resources, directing state support only to truly needy citizens," Yertayev said.
Currently, there is a methodology for assessing welfare through a digital card for each family. The next stage is the formation of digital profiles of households in the eGov Mobile application and expanding the data composition through integration with banks, the Ministry of Finance, and credit bureaus. "This will allow taking into account the real income, expenses, and financial situation of families," the minister noted.
As a result, social assistance will be provided only to needy families. Work on further improving the system continues.
