In Kazakhstan, prices for a number of socially significant food products have decreased over the past week. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics, as of June 24, 2026, prices for a number of socially significant food products fell during the reporting week. The biggest decrease was for tomatoes, which fell by 5.5%.
The following products also became cheaper: - eggs of the first category (-1.3%); - cucumbers (-1.3%); - milk (-0.2%); - kefir with 2-3% fat content (-0.2%); - cottage cheese with 5-9% fat content (-0.2%); - black tea (-0.2%); - polished rice, fresh, chilled and frozen fish, sour cream, apples, and table salt (each by -0.1%).
Overall, the general price level for socially significant food products decreased in Konayev (-0.5%), Kokshetau (-0.4%), Pavlodar (-0.3%), Shymkent, Atyrau, and Petropavlovsk (each by -0.2%). In Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Semey, Taraz, and Ust-Kamenogorsk, prices remained at the level of the previous week.
The main factors for the price decrease in the regions were the seasonal reduction in vegetable prices, as well as lower prices for certain grocery items. The average price for tomatoes in the republic was 654 tenge per kilogram. The lowest price was recorded in Shymkent at 406 tenge per kilogram.
The average republican price for polished rice was 532 tenge per kilogram. The most affordable prices were recorded in Kyzylorda at 461 tenge and Almaty at 478 tenge.
The average price for potatoes in the republic was 280 tenge per kilogram. The lowest price was recorded in Taraz at 220 tenge per kilogram.
The average price for ten eggs of the first category in the republic was 575 tenge. The lowest prices were recorded in Kokshetau (486 tenge) and Aktobe (488 tenge).
For meat products, the average price for beef with bone in the republic was 3,777 tenge per kilogram, and the average price for chicken meat was 1,725 tenge per kilogram.
