Members of the Adilet party and its Business Council will send 1.5 billion tenge to help the families of military personnel killed and injured during exercises in the Caspian Sea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The party's press service noted that the contributions are made voluntarily, on the personal initiative of the participants in the collection.
Contribution of the Qazaqstan Khalyk Kenesi
Recall that members of the Qazaqstan Khalyk Kenesi are also ready to send 815 million tenge to help the families of servicemen. Seventeen members of the Council — business representatives from various regions of the country — joined the charitable initiative. The funds will be transferred directly to the families of the deceased.
Support from Kurultai deputies
The Chairman and deputies of the Kurultai also supported the initiative to provide assistance to families, raising 146.65 million tenge in personal funds. The money will be transferred to the Ulttyk Rukh fund. Deputies Aidarbek Khozhonazarov, Ruslan Idrisov, Meirkhat Kasymbayev, Bekzhan Aitkulov and Makhambet Khasenov each sent 20 million tenge. Dana Medeuova, Aizhan Naimbekova and Bauyrzhan Dzhamalov each transferred 10 million tenge, Turarbek Tlemisov, Muratbek Mukhambediyev and Musa Khairulliyev each sent 5 million tenge, while Begaly Yeraliyev allocated 500 thousand tenge.
The Caspian tragedy
The tragedy occurred on September 24 in the Caspian during combat training tasks of the Naval Forces. Due to a sudden storm and sharp gusts of wind, 17 servicemen were carried into the open sea. According to the latest data, 14 people died, and three soldiers were rescued.
Course of the investigation
A criminal case has been opened over the emergency under articles on negligence and violation of navigation rules, and the investigation has been taken under personal control by the Prosecutor General's Office. The agency has already questioned more than 30 military personnel and identified the circle of suspected officials.
The causes and circumstances of the soldiers' deaths are being investigated by a special government commission led by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev. In connection with the tragedy, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared September 25 a day of national mourning.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the bodies of two more servicemen were found in the Caspian Sea.
