In the Kokpekti district of the Abai region, a natural fire continues to be extinguished. The fire remains in three areas. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, about 180 people and 26 pieces of equipment from the Ministry and local executive bodies are fighting the flames. A Kazaviaspas helicopter with a water-discharge device was involved in the work. It has already made 22 drops from the air, pouring 66 tons of water on the hotspots.

"The extinguishing is complicated by strong winds, dry vegetation, and difficult terrain. Rescuers continue to eliminate individual hotspots and prevent the fire from spreading further," the ministry noted.

The situation is constantly monitored. The Ministry notes that the situation remains under control.

Earlier, Kursiv reported on a forest fire that broke out on August 13 in the East Kazakhstan region. Over the past weekend, after 100 water drops from a helicopter, the fire was localized.

Meanwhile, another natural fire has been extinguished in the Karaganda region since August 11.

Scale of the Fire

The fire continues in three areas, complicating extinguishing efforts. The efforts of the Ministry and local authorities are combined. The use of a helicopter yields significant results, as targeted water drops help contain the spread of hotspots.

Weather Conditions

Strong winds and dry vegetation create favorable conditions for the spread of fire. Difficult terrain hampers ground operations. Nevertheless, specialists are taking all necessary measures and keeping the situation under control.

Other Fires

The forest fire in the East Kazakhstan region started on August 13 and was localized only after 100 water drops. The fire in the Karaganda region has been ongoing since August 11. Special attention is paid to fire prevention and extinguishing in these regions.

Conclusion

The fire situation in the Abai region is complex but controlled. Coordinated efforts of rescuers and local authorities are helping to contain the spread of the fire. Residents are advised to follow safety measures and avoid fire-prone areas.
