The pre-trial investigation into the death of 20-year-old Dilnaz Zhumagulova in the village of Borodulikha, Abai region, has been completed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing KTK TV channel.

The girl's body with multiple stab wounds was found on the road on July 13. The suspect was detained and taken into custody. According to the TV channel, the young man confessed to the crime.

Dilnaz was 20 years old. She dreamed of becoming a history and geography teacher, traveling, and starting a family. The girl was the only child of her parents, and during the holidays she was staying with her grandparents.

According to the preliminary version, on the evening of July 13, Dilnaz met with her ex-boyfriend, whom she had known since school. A quarrel broke out between them. It is alleged that the girl slapped him in the face, after which he took out a folding knife that he carried in his back pocket.

According to relatives, the suspect inflicted 12 stab wounds on Dilnaz and also hit her several times on the head with a blunt object. After that, he allegedly tried to get rid of the body and dragged it about 32 meters, but then left it on the road.

"The girl was only 20 years old. And no matter what disagreements, conflicts, or personal hostility there were between them, that was no reason to kill a child, to take her life. According to the examination, I read, 12 stab wounds and two blows, he smashed her skull, it turns out, with a blunt object," said the mother of the deceased, Dinara Atayeva.

When Dilnaz did not return from her walk in the morning, relatives began to search for her. One of the acquaintances told the family that he had seen the girl with her ex-boyfriend.

According to KTK, the suspect returned home after the incident and went to sleep. He allegedly hid the bloody clothes and the knife in the toilet.

Relatives of the deceased also said that the suspect's family tried to meet with them. However, Dilnaz's parents stated that they were not yet ready for such a conversation.

"Such people must be isolated from society. We don't know, they can go anywhere, in all cities, in all villages. The law must be tightened. A person was killed, our only child," said the father of the deceased, Sabyrzhan Temirkhan.

The police department of the Abai region reported that the pre-trial investigation has been completed. Currently, the participants in the process are familiarizing themselves with the materials of the criminal case.

Dilnaz's relatives demand that the case be reclassified as murder with extreme cruelty. The final legal assessment will depend on the results of examinations and other investigation materials. The police promised to provide the family with the opportunity to review all collected materials, after which the case will be sent to court.
