A forest fire registered in the territory of the Tarbagatai State National Nature Park in the Abai region was localized on September 22 at 17:30. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The fire started on September 20, 2026. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, despite the difficult mountainous terrain and the inaccessibility of certain areas, thanks to the coordinated work of forest guard employees and involved services, the further spread of the fire was stopped and localization was achieved.
A total of 327 people, 31 units of equipment and 2 aircraft were involved in extinguishing the fire. Aviation carried out 26 water drops with a total volume of 68 tons.
Currently, work to fully extinguish the fire continues.
