About 226 people, 43 vehicles and two helicopters were deployed to fight a wildfire in the Ayagoz district of the Abai Region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said there is no threat to settlements.
Where the fire started
Dry grass and shrubs caught fire in the Kazankemir area of the Tarbagatai rural district. The fire spread to the territory of the Tarbagatai State National Nature Park.
Who is involved in the response
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Semey Ormany State Forest Nature Reserve, the Tarbagatai National Park and local executive bodies are taking part in the extinguishing effort.
From the air, the fire is being fought by helicopters of Kazaviaspas and the National Security Committee, which have carried out 12 water drops.
What complicates the work
The work is complicated by mountainous terrain, steep ascents, wind gusts and the absence of access roads to some of the fire hotspots.
Extinguishing continues
The extinguishing effort continues. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the situation is under the control of the services involved.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a wildfire on an area of 13 hectares was localized in the Almaty Region. To extinguish it, a Ministry of Emergency Situations helicopter carried out 18 water drops with a total volume of 54 tons, and no threat to settlements arose.
