A court in Abai Region has sentenced a man to 14 years for the brutal murder of Dilnaz Zhumagulova in the village of Borodulikha. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The parents of the deceased told the details of the incident to a Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent. According to the mother of the deceased, Dinara Atayeva, her daughter communicated with this young man for about three months last year, then they parted ways. The girl's mother knew about their relationship.
"He studied in the same class as my daughter. His mother is a secretary, his father serves in the emergency situations field. When my daughter was communicating with him, I had no bad thoughts. The mother of the guy who killed my daughter is my classmate. People I have seen and know myself," says Dinara Atayeva.
This year they started communicating again and continued their relationship. On the day of the incident, a conflict arose between the girl and the guy, and they argued for about an hour.
"They met after 12 midnight. When my daughter was leaving, he hit her hard on the head twice and stabbed her 12 times. But I was surprised when I heard that they had started communicating again," says Dinara Atayeva.
The mother of the deceased advises women raising girls not to trust anyone.
"You cannot trust even the closest person. Carefully monitor who your daughter communicates with, what her environment is, who she talks to. I never thought that my daughter would die at the hands of my classmate's son," says Dinara.
Dilnaz was the only child in the family. The parents of the deceased asked to qualify the criminal case under two articles.
"We also demanded to add Part 5 of Article 99 of the Criminal Code. But no case was opened under that article," says the mother.
The criminal case, which caused great public resonance, was considered in the specialized inter-district court for criminal cases of Abai Region. The defendant was charged under Part 1 of Article 99 of the Criminal Code. The crime occurred on the night of July 13 this year.
"The defendant deliberately struck the girl with a folding knife in the neck area, damaging the left carotid artery. Further, in order to realize his criminal intent aimed at murder, he inflicted several knife blows to her vital organs. As a result of the injuries received, the victim died at the scene," reported the Abai Region Court.
The defendant partially admitted guilt. By court verdict, he was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment. In addition, the convicted person was ordered to pay 20 million tenge in moral damages to the victims, 1,169,600 tenge in material damage, and 500,000 tenge spent on representative services. The court verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
