A ceremony to lay a commemorative capsule marking the start of construction of the Aidarly mining and processing plant (MPP) was held in the Abai region. The new MPP will become one of the largest projects in Kazakhstan's mining industry and will make a significant contribution to the country's industrial development. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The ceremony was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Nurlybek Nalibayev, Akim of the Abai region Berik Uali, company management and partners.
The project is being implemented by Aidarly Mining LLP. Upon reaching full capacity, the Aidarly MPP will be able to process 75 million tons of ore per year. The enterprise will produce 226,000 tons per year of copper in copper concentrate and 3,550 tons per year of molybdenum in molybdenum concentrate. The production complex will include a quarry, crushing complex, processing plant, energy, transport and engineering infrastructure facilities, as well as a shift camp with areas for comfortable recreation and sports for workers.
As noted by Farit Sufyanov, General Director of Aktobe Copper Company LLP, representing the management company, the project has a significant multiplier effect for Kazakhstan's economy.
"The Aidarly MPP will create over 3,000 jobs, and in implementing the project we plan to maximize the potential of Kazakh specialists, contractors and suppliers. According to our estimates, total tax revenues over the entire project implementation period will exceed 1.43 trillion tenge," said Farit Sufyanov, General Director of Aktobe Copper Company LLP.
Eduard Ogai, founder of Aidarly Mining LLP, emphasized that the new mining and processing plant will give a new impetus to the development of the Abai region and strengthen the industrial potential of the region.
"Today we are moving to a new stage of the Aidarly project – the construction of the future enterprise. This was preceded by extensive preparatory work, which included geological exploration, design, and development of engineering solutions. We believe that Aidarly will contribute to the development of Kazakhstan's mining industry. For us, this is also an investment in the region, new jobs, modern technologies and opportunities for future development," said Eduard Ogai.
One of the key principles of the project will be environmental responsibility. The production is being designed taking into account modern environmental requirements and provides for a closed water cycle, allowing water to be purified and reused in the technological process. After the development of the deposit is completed, comprehensive reclamation of disturbed lands will be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the country's environmental legislation.
