The prosecutor's office of Ayagoz district in Abai region has identified violations in the operation of automatic traffic enforcement cameras. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, on one of the streets in Ayagoz city, the permitted speed limit was 60 km/h, but the automatic recording complex was erroneously set to a threshold of 40 km/h. As a result, 172 citizens were illegally brought to administrative responsibility.
Following a prosecutor's oversight act, all illegally issued decisions were revoked, and efforts to refund the paid fines were organized. To date, more than 800,000 tenge has been returned to vehicle owners. The refund process is ongoing.
