Renewable energy sources based on wind and solar power are developing in the Abai region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Energy, 8 renewable energy facilities with a total installed capacity of 159.7 MW are currently operating in the region. These include: 7 wind power plants – 129.7 MW; 1 solar power plant – 30 MW.
The largest facility in the region is the 100 MW "Abai-1" wind power plant located in the Ayagoz district. Wind energy facilities "Wind Charsk", "VES-Charsk", "Charsk Veter", DES Consulting, Ventum Energy and EastWindEnergy also operate in the region.
Solar energy is represented by the 30 MW "Zhan giz Solar" power plant located in the Zharma district.
Wind energy occupies a special place. Projects in this sector increase the region's energy potential and contribute to expanding the share of renewable sources.
