Kazakhstan strives not to remain a country that supplies only raw materials, but to develop high-tech industries and form a full production chain. This was stated at a roundtable dedicated to the presidential address by Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Russia Dauren Abayev. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

«Kazakhstan does not want to supply only raw materials, it wants to build a proper production chain,» noted Dauren Abayev.

Abayev noted that the presidential address of Kazakhstan is mainly devoted to economic issues. Among the priority areas are the development of transport infrastructure, nuclear energy and attracting investment.

«Construction of a nuclear power plant has begun in Kazakhstan, a new energy sector is developing. This was noted by both our president and the Russian president. We understand this well,» said the ambassador.

He also noted that regular meetings between the presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia have a positive impact on the development of cooperation between the two countries. According to the diplomat, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin meet not only once or twice a year, but more often.
