This is a holiday for cosmetologists, plastic surgeons, cosmetics manufacturers and sellers. The holiday was established on the initiative of the International Committee of Aesthetics and Cosmetology CIDESCO. The committee was founded in 1946 in Brussels and was recognized as the world association for beauty therapy.

In many countries of the world, beauty contests are held on September 9. The first such contest took place in 1888 in Belgium. And the "Miss World" contest was held in 1951 in London.

International Crane Day

Also today is International Crane Day. The first generation of these beautiful birds appeared during the time of dinosaurs. The historical homeland of cranes is considered to be North America.
