The Solar Activity Laboratory reported that a magnetic storm is expected on Earth on Friday, October 9. The geomagnetic storm will be moderate and will not exceed level G2 (on a 5-point scale). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to astronomers' forecasts, the storm is expected in the first half of the day.

"At the moment, overall solar activity has already begun to decline, and the power of new flares has sharply decreased, so a prolonged extreme storm is not expected this weekend. Nevertheless, an elevated geomagnetic background may also persist on Saturday, October 10," the scientists noted.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that astronomers told when earthlings would be able to see the peak of the autumn meteor showers.
