On June 9, the world celebrates International Friends Day, International Accreditation Day, National Donald Duck Day, and International Archives Day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

International Friends Day

Friendship is a wonderful feeling that helps a person to form as a person, increase self-esteem, and, of course, gain life experience. Usually, people who are close in spirit and views become good friends. With them, you can not only spend your free time but also share your sorrows when you are in trouble, because they always come to help first. The dictionary of O.S. Ozhegov describes this concept as follows: "Friendship is a relationship between people based on mutual affection, spiritual closeness, common interests, and other values." Unfortunately, the number of loyal friends decreases every year, but the proverb "An old friend is better than two new ones" is still relevant.

International Accreditation Day

Accreditation is necessary in various fields of work. The International Accreditation Day holiday was established by the ILAC and IAF General Assembly (organizations involved in accreditation of testing laboratories and certification bodies) on June 9, 2008. The initiative supported by the decision of the International Forum on Accreditation and Laboratory Accreditation served as the basis for creating this holiday. The purpose of the holiday is to draw attention to work related to ILAC and IAF accreditation.

National Donald Duck Day

Every year on June 9, America celebrates National Donald Duck Day! The date was not chosen by chance – Donald Duck first appeared on screen on June 9, 1934, in the cartoon "The Wise Little Hen." The idea of creating Donald Duck came to Walt Disney after he heard Clarence Nash, who could imitate a duck's voice. Disney needed a character unlike Mickey Mouse, more unpleasant. Donald fit perfectly with his bad temper. Nash voiced Donald from 1934 to 1985, preparing Tony Anselmo as his replacement. Donald's middle name is Fauntleroy. This name was first mentioned in 1942 in the cartoon "Donald Gets Drafted." Donald Duck is the only Disney character with an official middle name.

International Archives Day

This holiday was approved in November 2007 in Quebec (Canada) at the General Assembly of the International Council on Archives (ICA). The date was not chosen by chance – on this day in 1948, by decision of UNESCO, the International Council on Archives (ICA) was founded.
