Traffic to be restricted on Astana–Karaganda–Almaty highway section from July 8

KazAvtoZhol JSC reported that as part of medium repairs on the Astana–Karaganda–Almaty highway in Almaty region, road works will be carried out on sections km 1121–1186 and km 1194–1209. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

"In this regard, from July 8 to 18, 2026, on the Aksai–Zhibek Zholy section, km 1177–1186, traffic will be temporarily restricted daily from 06:00 to 20:00. During the repair period, traffic will be organized via a detour route," the company's statement said.

Meanwhile, traffic on the Kurty–Shabyt section, km 1121–1177, will be opened from July 8.

Drivers are asked to plan their routes in advance, comply with temporary road signs, and understand the ongoing work.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that KazAvtoZhol had begun a large-scale reconstruction of the Karaganda–Zhezkazgan highway.
