In the film, Hart plays Joe, a successful New York ad executive whose ideas have become dated. His bosses no longer think he can connect with Gen Z. To reacquaint himself with youth culture, Joe joins a bachelor party in Miami with four 20-somethings, despite the most tenuous connection: he was accidentally copied into their group text thread.
Directed by Tim Story ('Ride Along,' 'Barbershop') and produced by Will Packer, '72 Hours' stars Hart alongside 'Saturday Night Live' cast members Marcello Hernández, Ben Marshall, and Kam Patterson, as well as Mason Gooding. Many scenes will remind viewers of other comedies, particularly 'The Hangover,' but the film acknowledges this similarity.
The comic energy comes from Hart interacting with his younger co-stars. Hart, now 47, plays a character trying to relate to a younger, more politically correct generation. This material is a better match for Hart than some of his other Netflix releases.
