Tanzania celebrates Agriculture Day today. The holiday is dedicated to the annual International Trade Fair in Dar es Salaam. The name of the holiday – Saba Saba – means "seven seven" in Swahili, referring to the date of the fair. The Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair annually gathers representatives from about 25 countries. Within the fair, an average of about 2,000 different exhibitions are held. Usually, the exhibitions are dedicated to agricultural issues. The fair is supported by the Tanzanian government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tanzania, the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, and the Confederation of Tanzanian Industries.
