World Drummer's Day
September 7 also marks World Drummer's Day. This holiday received official status in 1896. That year, at the opening ceremony of the first Olympic Games, the Swiss team entered the stadium accompanied by a military drummer ensemble. On May 26, 2019, in St. Petersburg, on City Day, 1,300 drummers performed a crescendo on 556 drums, setting a new record entered in the Guinness Book of Records.
