Kazakhstan has updated the program of voluntary resettlement to regions with labor shortages. The main change is the increase of the maximum economic mobility certificate to 7 million tenge, which can be used to purchase own housing. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The Ministry of Labor reported that state support will now allow program participants not only to move but also to purchase housing in a new location.
"The maximum size of the economic mobility certificate is now up to 7 million tenge (1,625 MCI). Participants can use these funds to purchase their own housing in a new place. The main goal of the changes is to help citizens not just change regions, but to settle comfortably, get a roof over their heads and put down roots," the ministry said.
In addition to the housing certificate, migrants will retain subsidies for relocation, compensation for rental and utility costs, as well as job search assistance. Employers can be selected even before moving — for this, host regions hold job fairs.
The ministry noted that the list of program participants has been expanded. Previously, it was mainly aimed at the unemployed, but now in-demand specialists and heads of peasant and farm holdings can also apply.
Applications, region selection, list of in-demand professions and vacancies can be accessed remotely via the portal migration.enbek.kz.
According to the ministry, since 2017, 73,900 people have become participants in the program, of which 31,000 were employed in permanent jobs thanks to employment assistance measures.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Ministry of Labor launched the portal migration.enbek.kz for participants of the voluntary resettlement program. The service allows users to familiarize themselves with the conditions of relocation, available state support measures, list of in-demand professions and choose a region for resettlement.
