Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin explained why 356,000 individual entrepreneurs ceased their operations. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the results of the first nine months of this year, 19.3 trillion tenge in taxes was received by the state budget. This is 3 trillion tenge, or 18.2%, more compared to the same period last year.
"The main driver of growth was the value-added tax. Revenues from this tax increased by 37.3%," Zhumangarin said at today's government meeting.
According to him, the number of entrepreneurs is also growing. For example, 981,000 people are registered under the regime for the self-employed. Of these, 807,000 were registered for tax accounting for the first time.
In total, 277,000 new business entities were registered in the first nine months of this year. Of these, 34,700 are legal entities and 242,300 are individual entrepreneurs.
In addition, during this period, the operations of 19,700 legal entities and 356,000 individual entrepreneurs were terminated.
"However, terminating registration as an individual entrepreneur does not mean that economic activity has actually ceased. Of the 356,000 individual entrepreneurs who ceased operations, 42.6% did not earn income in 2025, while 20.8% switched to the regime for the self-employed while continuing their business," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
It is worth noting that a new Tax Code came into force this year. Within its framework, new value-added tax rates have been established. Meanwhile, deputies are proposing to introduce another amendment to the code.
