A Threads user from Kazakhstan under the nickname SanJario conducted a survey about cars capable of driving 300,000 km or more. In the comments, hundreds of people shared their operating experience and photos of their vehicles. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

“Owners of cars with 300,000+ km mileage, come out. Make, model, engine. Let’s see who the real long-liver is here,” the author of the post suggested.

Indestructible classics

One participant said that a year ago he sold a Toyota Land Cruiser 100 with a mileage of 1.68 million km. One of the reasons was corrosion of the sills and the edge of the windshield. According to him, the car has now surely passed the 1.7 million km mark.

The owner of a 2016 Nissan X-Trail reported a mileage of 417,000 km with the original CVT. He stated that he changes engine oil every 8,000 km and transmission oil every 30,000 km.

“The Volvo 240, 740 and 940 I had all had mileages of 350,000+. I don’t even know how much exactly, because the odometer dies at that mileage,” wrote another car enthusiast, mentioning the B230 engine.

A Range Rover with a 4.4-liter V8 from Jaguar covered almost 500,000 km.

“The engine was first opened at 490,000 km, the chains were replaced. It has been in the same hands for almost 15 years,” commented the owner of the British SUV.

The discussion also featured the owner of a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 with a 5.7-liter engine and a mileage of 476,000 km.

Another car enthusiast stated that his Audi 100 station wagon with a 2.6-liter engine had its odometer stop at 617,000 km.

“598,000 km. It passed from my father to me and is still running,” said the owner of a Toyota Corolla E110.

A 2007 Audi Q7 with a 3.0 TDI diesel reached 483,000 km. At the same time, the discussion participant assured that the engine chains remained factory-original.

“Geely didn’t worry,” wrote the owner of a Chinese Geely Emgrand sedan, accompanying the comment with a photo of the odometer showing 394,000 km.

Other cars with high mileages include a 2013 Skoda Octavia A7 (876,000 km), a Toyota Camry (780,000 km) and a 2004 BMW X3 with a three-liter diesel (over 420,000 km).

The owner of a UAZ Patriot with a ZMZ-409 engine reported covering 300,000 km under harsh operating conditions. At the same time, the Russian SUV was repaired repeatedly.

“The cylinder head was removed and resurfaced twice because I overheated it. Off-road I didn’t monitor the temperature regime and, while slipping in the mud, boiled the engine. Otherwise everything was standard: the chain was replaced twice along with the water pump. The thermostat was changed several times. I recently replaced the engine mounts. The oil is changed every 7–8 thousand km,” the car enthusiast said.

Summary

Ultimately, Toyota and German brands were mentioned most often in the comments, while Chinese cars were noticeably fewer.

At the same time, such reviews cannot be used to draw conclusions about the reliability of brands in general. High mileage does not always mean the absence of breakdowns: much depends not only on the model and engine, but also on operating conditions, maintenance and timely replacement of consumables.
