Unstable weather will persist across most of Kazakhstan on June 28. According to Kazhydromet forecasters, the country will continue to be affected by a northwestern cyclone and associated atmospheric fronts, bringing rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squally winds. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Storm warnings have been issued in most regions due to abnormal heat and heavy rains.
Heavy rains are expected in the western, northern, southern, and southeastern regions of the country. Wind strengthening is forecast across the republic, and fog is possible in some places in the northern and eastern regions at night and in the morning.
Along with precipitation, abnormal heat will persist in a number of regions. In Almaty, Zhambyl, Pavlodar, Karaganda, and East Kazakhstan regions, the air will warm up to 35–38°C. The same temperature is expected in Zhetysu and Abai regions.
The highest temperature is forecast in Turkestan region — up to 40–42°C. In the north of Zhetysu region, thermometers may rise to 40°C.
High and extreme fire danger persists in most regions of the country. The most difficult situation is expected in Zhetysu, Abai, Ulytau regions, as well as in some areas of Pavlodar, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Akmola, Kostanay, Zhambyl, Atyrau, and Kyzylorda regions.
In Astana, short-term rain, thunderstorms, and possible hail are forecast for June 28.
In Almaty, heat up to 35°C is expected, and high fire danger persists. In Shymkent, forecasters also predict short-term rain with thunderstorms, but the air temperature will reach 40°C and above.
Heavy downpours with hail and squally winds are expected in West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Mangystau regions, as well as in Abai region. In some areas, wind gusts may reach 20–25 meters per second.
Residents are advised to take precautions during thunderstorms, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak heat hours, and strictly follow fire safety rules.
Earlier, Kazhydromet warned Kazakhstani residents that due to a powerful cyclone, the weather over the weekend would be unstable, and some regions would experience unexpected cooling.
