September 26 is marked by several holidays and memorable dates around the world. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

World Contraception Day

For 11 consecutive years, on the initiative of several organizations dealing with reproductive health and family planning, World Contraception Day has been celebrated. Despite the holiday's youth, contraceptives have existed for thousands of years.

According to legend, the condom was made from a sheep's bladder by the wife of Cretan Minos. In ancient Africa, it was made from crocodile skin, in Europe from the intestines of domestic animals and cotton, and in China from silk. Of course, at that time one condom could be used several times. After each use, they were washed with a special spermicidal compound, dried, and then put back in a box.

Old Friends Day

There is a holiday that is not officially included in the calendar but is warm to the heart. Scientists say that those who manage to stay friends into old age and find people close in spirit live longer than others. Therefore, this is a great occasion to find old friends and meet them. It not only lifts the mood but also brings great health benefits. Usually, not much is said about this day. In any case, it is better to wait for the owners of the shot glasses until the weekend. By the way, do you know the difference between a shot glass and a small glass? The difference is simple: a shot glass has a part at the bottom for holding with the hand, while a small glass does not.
