On October 22, Russia celebrates the Day of White Cranes, a holiday dedicated to the memory of those who died on the battlefield and during armed conflicts. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The holiday has been celebrated annually on the initiative of poet Rasul Gamzatov. The main goal of the holiday is not only to honor the memory of heroes who gave their lives for the Motherland and to educate young people in patriotism, but also to strengthen the traditions and customs of Russian residents. The name of the holiday comes from the poem "White Cranes," which was set to music and performed by Mark Bernes.

Also today is International Caps Lock Day. As is well known, pressing this key on the keyboard makes all letters uppercase. Initially, this key was invented for those who constantly write text in uppercase letters, because pressing Shift repeatedly is inconvenient. Later, an internet movement against the CAPS LOCK key began. People still argue about whether this key is needed. In 2001, a public campaign against the key was created in Sweden, with the goal of demanding that computer manufacturers remove the key. The dispute has not ended, and the key remains in place.
