Starting in 2027, Kazakhstan plans to send parents SMS notifications about their children's upcoming medical checkups. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This will allow parents to receive advance notice and have their children undergo the necessary examinations in a timely manner.
First-half figures
In the first half of this year, 3.6 million children underwent preventive medical checkups. Various diseases were detected in 302,000 children, and more than 119,000 of them were placed under dynamic observation.
Among the most common problems among children are tooth decay, anemia and vision impairment.
Tooth decay and school meals
Within six months, tooth decay was detected in 80,169 school-age children. Since 2025, a new school meal standard has been introduced in educational institutions, aimed at reducing the amount of sugar and salt in children's diets.
Under the "Healthy Teeth for the Future" project, 166 dental prevention offices have been opened over two years. Their work is aimed at developing oral care skills among schoolchildren and preventing dental diseases.
Digital technologies and artificial intelligence
In addition, digital technologies and artificial intelligence tools are being introduced into the preventive medical checkup system.
