The Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan has determined the start and end dates for the 2026–2027 academic year, as well as school holidays and final exams. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the approved schedule, the academic year will begin on September 1, 2026, and end on May 25, 2027.
The new academic year includes three holiday periods:
- 01Autumn holidays: November 2 to November 8, 2026 (7 days).
- 02Winter holidays: December 28, 2026 to January 10, 2027 (14 days).
- 03Spring holidays: March 22 to March 28, 2027 (7 days).
Additional holidays are provided for first-grade students from February 8 to February 14, 2027.
The ministry also reminded that the duration of academic quarters will be:
- 01First quarter: September 1 to November 2 (8 weeks).
- 02Second quarter: November 9 to December 28 (7 weeks).
- 03Third quarter: January 11 to March 22 (10 weeks).
- 04Fourth quarter: March 29 to May 25 (8 weeks).
Final certification for 9th (10th) grade students will take place from May 31 to June 11, 2027.
State graduation exams for 11th (12th) grade students will be held from June 1 to June 17, 2027.
The Ministry of Education also reported that the schedule for graduation exams in each subject has been approved by order. Detailed information is published on the official information resources of the department.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Kyrgyzstan postponed the start of the 2026–2027 academic year, with students returning to school on September 15 instead of September 1.
