The Ministry of Education has approved the start and end dates of the 2026-2027 academic year, as well as the holiday periods for students in secondary education institutions. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The new academic year will begin on September 1, 2026 and end on May 25, 2027. The first quarter will last 8 school weeks.
Autumn holidays will last 7 days and will take place from October 26 to November 1, 2026. The second quarter will also be 8 school weeks.
Winter holidays will last 14 days and will take place from December 28, 2026 to January 10, 2027. For first-graders, additional 7-day holidays are provided from February 8 to 14, 2027. The third quarter will last 10 school weeks.
Spring holidays will last 7 days and will take place from March 22 to 28, 2027. The fourth quarter will last 8 school weeks and will end on May 25, 2027. The dates for final certification of graduates of grades 9 (10) and 11 (12) have also been approved.
