In the semifinal of the Kazakhstan championship in the 60 kg weight category, 19-year-old Adilbek Kozhakhan secured a clear victory over 29-year-old Orazbek Asylkulov and advanced to the final. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Orazbek Asylkulov became a world champion at an IBA tournament and also won the Asian championship title this year. The Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan published a video of the semifinal bout, which shows the level of 19-year-old Kozhakhan.
The representative of the Zhetisu region dominated in all three rounds. The final score was 5:0.
Previously, Kozhakhan defeated Asylzhan Serikbay, and in the quarterfinal he beat Talgat Syrymbetov, the 2024 national champion.
The final bouts of the national championship in Taraz will take place on November 6.
