Japan celebrates Women Ministers Day. On July 19, 1960, Nakayama Masa (January 19, 1891 – October 11, 1976) became the first woman appointed as a minister in Japan. She headed the Ministry of Health. Since then, July 19 is unofficially considered Women Ministers Day in Japan.

Also today, Russia celebrates the professional holiday of lawyers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This holiday was established in 2003. On this day in 1946, a legal department appeared in the central apparatus of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs.
