The strongest wind is forecast in the North Kazakhstan region. In the north, east and south of the region, gusts will reach 15-20 m/s, during the day in the east and south at times up to 25 m/s. In the Kostanay region, the wind will intensify to 15-20 m/s.

In the Aktobe region, rain and thunderstorms are expected during the day, wind gusts will be 15-18 m/s. In the west of the Turkestan region, a dust storm is possible, the wind will intensify to 15-20 m/s.

Rain and thunderstorms will also occur in the east and south of the Atyrau region, and in the north and east of the Mangystau region. At night and in the morning, fog is expected in a number of western and northern regions.

In the Zhetisu region, during the day in the area of the Alakol lakes, gusts of the northeastern wind will reach 15-20 m/s. In the mountainous areas of the Zhambyl region, the wind will also intensify to 15-20 m/s.

Frost is possible at night

In the east of the country at night in mountainous areas, frosts down to 2 degrees on the soil surface are possible.

In the south, southeast and east of Kazakhstan, generally rainless weather is expected.

Fire danger remains

At the same time, high or extreme fire danger remains in many regions. In Astana on September 18, high fire danger is expected, in Almaty a high level also remains, and in Konaev, Shymkent, Turkestan and a number of regional centers, extreme fire danger is in effect.
