17-year-old chess player from East Kazakhstan region Aldiyar Ansat has been awarded the title of international grandmaster. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
To achieve this, Aldiyar Ansat exceeded a rating of 2500 points at the international Aktobe Open tournament and fully completed all the norms.
According to the regional akimat, Aldiyar Ansat is one of Kazakhstan's talented young chess players. At the age of six, he became the youngest candidate for master of sports in the country; at 11, the youngest FIDE master; at 13, an international master; and at 15, the youngest honored master of sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
One of his notable achievements was winning the Kazakhstan championship in two age categories at once at the age of 10. Aldiyar won gold medals among athletes under 12 and under 14, achieving a unique success in the history of Kazakh chess. At 15, he became the Kazakhstan champion among adults, once again proving his high skill and great potential.
