The Republican State Enterprise 'Kazhydromet' has issued a storm warning for July 18 for 16 regions of Kazakhstan and Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Several regions are forecast to experience extreme heat up to +45°C, thunderstorms, hail, squally wind, dust storms, and extreme fire danger.
**Astana** During the day, the capital is expected to experience intense heat of 35–36°C. High fire danger persists.
**Akmola Region** In the west, north, and east of the region, brief rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected. Gusts of southwest wind will reach 15–20 m/s. During the day, the air will warm up to 35–38°C. High fire danger persists.
**Atyrau Region** In the west of the region, light rain, thunderstorms, and a dust storm are forecast. The speed of north and northwest wind will be 15–20 m/s. During the day, 42–44°C is expected. Extreme fire danger persists throughout the region.
**West Kazakhstan Region** In the west, south, and east, brief rain and thunderstorms are possible. Wind gusts will reach 15–20 m/s. In the northwest, extreme fire danger is expected; in other areas, high fire danger.
**Zhambyl Region** During the day, intense heat of 36–39°C is expected. West wind will strengthen to 15–20 m/s. High fire danger persists, with extreme danger in the south.
**Karaganda Region** The air will warm up to 35–37°C. High fire danger persists in the region, with extreme danger in the west and north.
**Kostanay Region** In the west and north, rain and thunderstorms are expected. West wind will strengthen to 15–20 m/s. From July 18 to 20, heat of 35–38°C is forecast. In some areas, extreme fire danger will persist.
**Kyzylorda Region** In the west, north, and east, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are forecast. Wind gusts will reach 15–20 m/s. In the south, heat up to 37°C is expected. Extreme fire danger persists in the south of the region.
**Mangystau Region** During the day, very intense heat of 43–45°C is expected. In some areas, wind strengthening to 15–20 m/s is forecast. High, and in places extreme, fire danger persists across the region.
**Pavlodar Region** Rain, thunderstorms, hail, squalls are expected; at night and in the morning, fog in places; during the day, a dust storm is possible in the south. Wind gusts will reach 23 m/s. In the south, heat up to 35°C is expected.
**North Kazakhstan Region** In the north, east, and south, rain, thunderstorms, and in places hail and squalls are forecast. Wind gusts will be 15–20 m/s. In the southeast, temperatures will rise to 35°C. In some areas, extreme fire danger will persist.
**Turkistan Region** In the north, east, and south, rain, in places heavy, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected. Wind will strengthen to 15–20 m/s. From July 18 to 21, heat of 35–38°C is forecast. High and extreme fire danger persists.
**Ulytau Region** In the east and south, rain and thunderstorms are expected. Wind gusts will reach 15–20 m/s. From July 18 to 21, heat of 35–38°C is expected. In a number of areas, extreme fire danger will persist.
**Aktobe Region** In the north, west, and center of the region, rain and thunderstorms are possible. In the south, wind will strengthen to 15–20 m/s. Daytime air temperature will be 38–42°C. High fire danger persists.
**Almaty Region** During the day, very intense heat of 40–45°C is expected. In the area of Lake Alakol, wind gusts may reach 23–28 m/s. In mountainous areas, heat of 35–37°C is forecast. High and extreme fire danger persists in the region.
**Abai Region** In the north and east, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected. Gusts of northwest wind will reach 15–20 m/s. In the west of the region, high fire danger will persist.
**East Kazakhstan Region** In the east of the region, intense heat of 35–38°C is expected during the day. High fire danger persists across the region, with extreme danger in the north and central part.
According to Kazhydromet, the most dangerous situation on July 18 is expected in the southern and southeastern regions of the country, where air temperatures will locally reach +45°C, and extreme fire danger will persist in a number of regions.
