Germany today celebrates Potato Dumpling Day. At first glance, one might wonder what is so special about a dish of dumplings. But Germans hold a grand celebration in honor of their delicacy – potato dumplings. The methods of preparing the dish are varied: spicy, salted, sweet, with white bread, with cheese, with cabbage, with strawberries, with chocolate, with prunes, with peaches and with apricots. Traditional music plays at the dumpling festival, and in September this melody stays in your head. Restaurants offer guests more than 23 types of dumpling dishes and other German foods.
Hindi Day in India
India today celebrates Hindi Day. This day was chosen to honor the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India at the Constituent Assembly in 1949. Hindi is now used alongside English.
