From June 24 to July 1, the price index for socially significant food products was 99.9%, reported the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Over the past week, prices fell for 7 products: tomatoes by 8.5%, cucumbers by 8.3%, eggs by 1.5%, apples by 1.1%, fresh, chilled and frozen fish by 0.4%, sunflower oil by 0.2%, and kefir by 0.1%. The price index for rice, bread and milk remained stable. Prices for 21 products increased slightly. "Cabbage rose by 7.9%, onions and potatoes by 1.9%, sugar by 1.6%. For other products, the increase was less than 1%," the statement said.

Over the past week, prices increased in four regions: in Akmola region by 0.2%, in Atyrau, Almaty and North Kazakhstan regions by 0.1%. In the cities of Astana, Almaty, as well as in Karaganda and Zhambyl regions, the price index remained stable. "Prices decreased in 12 regions. Including in Kyzylorda region by 0.9%, in Aktobe, Ulytau, Kostanay and Turkistan regions by 0.3%, in Mangystau, West Kazakhstan and East Kazakhstan regions by 0.2%, as well as in Shymkent city, Pavlodar, Abai and Zhetysu regions by 0.1%," the ministry said.

Since the beginning of the year, 581 meetings of regional commissions to identify unproductive intermediaries have been held, and 2,434 administrative decisions have been issued for exceeding the maximum trade markup. Through KTZ Express JSC, about 28,900 tons of potatoes, 8,600 tons of carrots, 4,700 tons of onions and 200 tons of cabbage were delivered to the domestic market.
