Storm warnings have been declared for 16 regions of Kazakhstan on September 11, Kazhydromet reported. Forecasters predict heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, fog, dust storms, stronger wind and heat up to +36 °C. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Akmola Region

In Akmola Region, rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west and south, with hail and squalls during the day, as well as a dust storm. The south-eastern wind will strengthen to 15-20 m/s during the day in the north, east and south. High fire danger remains. In Kokshetau, wind gusts will reach 15-18 m/s during the day.

Almaty Region

In Almaty Region, in the east and mountainous areas, gusts of the eastern wind turning to western will reach 18 m/s. Severe heat up to +35…+36 °C is expected during the day. Extreme fire danger remains in the centre, west and east, and high fire danger in the north. High fire danger is expected in Almaty, while in Konaev there will be heat up to +35 °C and extreme fire danger.

Karaganda Region

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that on September 10-12, air temperatures in northern Kazakhstan could drop to +13 °C. The cooling will be accompanied by rain, thunderstorms in places and stronger wind, while warm weather will persist longer in the south-east of the country.
