From October 1, the procedure for paying social benefits for job loss changes. The payment period will last no more than three months. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The change applies to citizens whose right to receive the social benefit arises from October 1 of the current year. The duration of the social benefit is determined by the length of the citizen's participation in the mandatory social insurance system.
How the payment period is determined
A citizen who participated in the system from 6 to 12 months receives the payment for 1 month. With participation from 12 to 24 months, it is paid for 2 months, and with participation of 24 months or more, it is paid for 3 months.
Maximum benefit amount
In addition, from October 1, a maximum amount of the social benefit for job loss is established. It equals 45% of 7 minimum wages established by the law on the republican budget on the day the right to receive the benefit arises.
How the specific amount is calculated
The specific amount paid to each citizen is calculated based on their average monthly income from which social contributions were made over the last 24 months, and on the length of their participation in the mandatory social insurance system.
