Medicines costing up to 1 MRP, that is 4,325 tenge, will be removed from the state price regulation system. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This measure is aimed at developing competition, expanding the range of medicines and increasing their accessibility for the population.
Transition to market pricing
According to the ministry, as a result, prices for more than 1,200 medicines will be formed on the basis of market mechanisms.
"Removing low-priced medicines from state price regulation will allow market participants to set prices independently, taking into account supply and demand," the ministry said.
The list has been shortened
As part of the gradual liberalization of prices, changes were made to the list of medicines subject to price regulation.
According to the updated list, the number of positions subject to state price regulation has been reduced from 3,039 to 1,827.
Thus, state regulation becomes more targeted and is concentrated on medicines that require additional protection of accessibility for the population.
Monitoring to be strengthened
The transfer of part of medicines to market pricing mechanisms is accompanied by strengthened monitoring of the pharmaceutical market.
